Bebras Challenge Y7 – 9 and CS students

The Bebras Challenge is a computational thinking challenge that all Y7 – 9 and Computer Science students participated in last term.  Computational thinking involves using a set of problem-solving skills and techniques that software engineers use to write programs and apps. The Bebras challenge promotes problem solving skills and informatics concepts including the ability to break down complex tasks into simpler components, algorithm design, pattern recognition, pattern generalisation and abstraction.

The results are now in with a number of girls successful in achieving distinctions and reaching the next phase of the competition which involves anyone who achieved a score in the top 10 % in the UK. These girls will be invited to take part in a competition with a similar format but far more challenging questions in March 2018.
