On 7 October, Year 6 set off to Oxford’s New Theatre to see English Youth Ballet perform ‘Sleeping Beauty’. This beautiful production is a combination of professional lead ballet dancers with a supporting cast of over 100 young dancers from the local area.
St Gabriel’s pupil Martha Croggon (Year 11) took part in this exciting event. After getting through a rigorous audition process, Martha had the opportunity to perform with an established company and dance alongside professionals who have performed with world renowned companies such as The Royal Ballet and English National Ballet.
Year 6 were treated to this magical full length traditional ballet, with music by Tchaikovsky, and an array of wonderful costumes. The girls have returned to school bursting with fresh ideas and energised imaginations for their own choreography and costumes.
