Sunny Morning for Dance and Drama Scholars

Dance and Drama Scholars were in for a real treat on Wednesday 6 June 2016 when two stars of the hit musical ‘Sunny Afternoon’ popped in for breakfast and a discussion about their lives in the show. The sell-out show is based on the music of The Kinks and scholars were given a fantastic insight into the back-stage and on-stage life of a professional performer. Alice Cardy, a former pupil of St Gabriel’s, plays Peggy, Joyce and understudies Rasa the leading lady. Her boyfriend, Damien Walsh, plays Mick Avory a musician. Alice studied at The Musical Theatre Academy in London and is making her debut in the West End in one of the biggest musicals currently being performed.  We would like to say a huge thank you to Alice and Damien for their thrilling insight into the world of musical theatre and we wish Alice all the best as she approaches the performance of a lifetime in September, when she takes to the stage in the leading role of Rasa.

Visitors to St Gabriel's quickly recognise that this is no ordinary school. Parents are always impressed by the sense of purpose and enthusiasm of the talented, committed staff and the confidence of the extremely happy pupils. We offer girls the opportunity for a seamless journey from Nursery through to Sixth Form, with our boys leaving us at the age of 11 for their senior schools.
