From 27 June – 1 July, Year 9 undertook a 5-day challenge and adventure course in Wrotham, Kent. Throughout the week the group took part in a number of challenging and fun activities, including a bushcraft survival course, an off-site camping expedition to Hope Hill, sandstone rock climbing at Harrison Rock, high ropes and a zip line. In the evening activities included playing rounders, games and dancing in the barn, and relaxing in the bell tents. One highlight for the teachers was when the girls cooked dinner for them on the expedition evening using the trangia – despite the wind and rain, we all enjoyed our tomato pasta dish!

What did the girls say about this trip?
The Wide Horizons trip gave us the opportunity to do lots of new things. We arrived on Monday and were immediately thrown into activities. Some of our favourites were rock climbing, mud fights, the expedition hike and high ropes. These activities pushed us to our limits and made us closer as a year group as well as giving us the opportunity to make new friends. Overall it was an amazing experience that we will remember forever! We had loads of great laughs, and made great memories with the support of our three instructors Ed, Jordan and Sara.
