Sophie's Singing Success
Sophie (Y9) was very successful at the Berkshire Music and Arts Festival this weekend where she won three of her four classes and was outright winner in the spoken verse and musical theatre (own choice) song categories.
She won the Mayor of Reading’s Cup for Spoken Verse and the Andy Anderson Cup for Musical Theatre. In musical theatre the judge complimented her commitment to the piece and for displaying vulnerability which drew the audience into the emotions of the piece.
This well-deserved success follows her excellent performance as Beast in our school production of Beauty and The Beast and playing the role of Alice in Newbury Youngstars' production of Alice in Wonderland at the Corn Exchange in April.
