Y9G Volunteer at Mencap

Year 9G visited MENCAP in Enbourne Road in Newbury for their community link project.  On arrival they were given a talk by Mark who explained that West Berkshire Mencap aims to provide information, support and services for adults and children with a learning disability, their families and carers in the local area. locally. On a tour of the centre girls saw the sensory room and soft play area as well as the large play area outside which allow disabled children and their siblings to enjoy play together. The girls then spent an hour and a half tidying up the sensory garden with several collecting volunteer forms keen to return to help with children's activities in their spare time.

Visitors to St Gabriel's quickly recognise that this is no ordinary school. Parents are always impressed by the sense of purpose and enthusiasm of the talented, committed staff and the confidence of the extremely happy pupils. We offer girls the opportunity for a seamless journey from Nursery through to Sixth Form, with our boys leaving us at the age of 11 for their senior schools.
