Year 8 students have learnt about working drawings and how to read information such as dimensions from the different views. They have used this skill to manufacture three component parts to create the frame for their mirror. Their challenge was then to create their own design for an attachment mechanism which would enable the mirror to be tilting and set to a range of at least three different angles. They created a 1:1 scale model of their design using styrofoam to test, evaluate and modify. The final product was made in the workshop using a combination of workshop tools, equipment and computer aided design and manufacture including the laser cutter.
