On Wednesday 14 June, Year 10 geographers ventured to Swanage (in 26 degrees!) to collect fieldwork data; this is an essential skill required for GCSE. On beaches busy with tourists and sunseekers, the girls quickly settled to the task required, this involved measuring the groynes and beach profiling to assess the direction of life longshore drift. A short drive further down the coast took us to Lulworth Cove, where they experienced a different type of coast. However testing here was mainly of ice cream flavours, cookies and cream and chocolate fudge brownie proving the most popular!
