World Challenge Expedition to Thailand and Cambodia

What a way to start the summer holidays! Ten of our sixth form embarked on an adventure of a lifetime this summer. Through the organisation World Challenge, we travelled to Thailand and Cambodia for a month to experience challenges and to involve ourselves in new communities and cultures. Highlights included working in a school in the jungle in the North of Thailand, teaching the children English in the morning and helping with construction and painting in the afternoon. Friendships were formed and the girls have already made links with this school since they have been home. In addition, who could forget the epic five-day trek through the jungle in Cambodia. The girls really embraced the challenge and were hugely successful in achieving their goal, even if we did have a few leeches, mosquito bites and mishaps with our hammocks along the way!

It was an extremely successful and enriching month away and one which will stay with us forever, as adventures are the best way to learn.

Visitors to St Gabriel's quickly recognise that this is no ordinary school. Parents are always impressed by the sense of purpose and enthusiasm of the talented, committed staff and the confidence of the extremely happy pupils. We offer girls the opportunity for a seamless journey from Nursery through to Sixth Form, with our boys leaving us at the age of 11 for their senior schools.
