Staying Safe Online

PC Emery from Thames Valley Police discussed online safety and the need for pupils to #ProtectYourWorld in a recent Senior School assembly. He stressed the importance of thinking carefully before posting images or sharing personal information online.

Internet safety is an integral of the PSHE programme throughout the school and 2 members of staff have completed CEOP Ambassador training which allows them cascade CEOP's Thinkuknow training to colleagues. The Ambassador course provides an in-depth look at the issues young people may face in their online life and how professionals can educate them about the opportunities and risks. This includes how young people use the internet and mobile technology, how offenders use the online environment and identifies risk taking behaviour of young people online.

As a school, we are fully aware that  it is not always easy for parents to keep on top of the latest social media trends and parental controls available. Amongst the wealth of information for parents on www.thinkuknow.co.uk is a series of guides to the latest social media apps young people are using. A selection of the most relevant are available for download below.

Visitors to St Gabriel's quickly recognise that this is no ordinary school. Parents are always impressed by the sense of purpose and enthusiasm of the talented, committed staff and the confidence of the extremely happy pupils. We offer girls the opportunity for a seamless journey from Nursery through to Sixth Form, with our boys leaving us at the age of 11 for their senior schools.
