The Sport & Dance Presentation Evening on Thursday 11 May, was an occasion to celebrate all the successes that have taken place this year, including many individual achievements.
Well done to Scarlett H (Year 7), Sasha H (Year 8), Saba K (Year 9), Issie M (Year 10) and Sophie B (Year 11), who all won Sports Personality of the Year for their year group. To be nominated for this award pupils needed to show a high level of performance in sport, regularly performing with consistency and excellence, displaying an excellent attitude across the board. For example in addition to competing for school teams, Sophie B has played in national netball finals with her club team. Whilst Issie has competed in the English Schools Athletics Cup and has secured a place in the 1500m County Finals in June, in addition to representing the school in hockey, cross country, netball and swimming.
Team Person of the Year was awarded to an individual in each year group for showing selfless attributes, supportivenss and a willingness to work hard for the team. Well done to Eve G (Y7), Evie W (Y8), Olivia J (Y9), Anna R (Y10) and Tara C (Y11) for leading by example.
There were also awards given for the most improved player in hockey and netball. Netball awards were presented to Lily G (Y7), Kirsten S (Y8), Clem W (Y9), Isobel DY10 and Helen A (Y11) and hockey awards to Georgia K (Y8), Joanna E (Y8), Lily R (Y9), Y10 Maddie S (Y10) and Lauren P (Y11).

Well done, also, to Millie D (Year 8), Fenella J (Year 9), Martha C (Year 11) and Sophia G (Year 11) who were all presented with Dance awards. Martha's award was for her dedication to dance and Sophia's was for her excellent choreography. Fenella won dancer of the year and Millie was the most improved dancer. Whilst the awards were focused on Senior School Sport and Dance, the hard work and ultimate success of Moggy S (Year 6) in securing a place at The Royal Ballet School should not be forgotten.
An excellent evening!
