Sixth Form Curriculum

We are proud of the extensive range of A level courses that we offer. In addition to those subjects offered at GCSE, students may choose to study Government and Politics, Psychology and Graphic Communication, to name but a few. From September 2016, all students will be entered for the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which is highly regarded by the top universities. This qualification proves a student’s ability to research independently in order to produce an extended essay, which is fully referenced, on a topic of academic interest.

Students have gone on from our Sixth Form to prestigious universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, to study a wide range of subjects including Astrophysics, Engineering, History, Law, Mathematics, Medicine, Ancient and Modern Foreign Languages, and Sports Science.  Girls have also gained places at RADA, Italia Conti and leading art colleges where they have been able to pursue their studies of Theatre Arts, Dance, Art and Photography, respectively.

Our careers education and PSHE programmes continue into the Sixth Form and through these, students are guided and supported through the UCAS process. Oxbridge applicants are given individualised help and advice for preparing for the interview process and are put in touch with alumnae currently studying at these universities.

Our aim is to ensure that all the young women who leave us are intrinsically motivated learners, self-confident, happy individuals who are ready to make a positive difference to the world in which we live.

Visitors to St Gabriel's quickly recognise that this is no ordinary school. Parents are always impressed by the sense of purpose and enthusiasm of the talented, committed staff and the confidence of the extremely happy pupils. We offer girls the opportunity for a seamless journey from Nursery through to Sixth Form, with our boys leaving us at the age of 11 for their senior schools.
