Show-jumping Gold for Izzi

Izzi Ryder from Year 10 has added a gold medal with Team England to her show-jumping achievements over the summer. She has been jumping on her two 138cm ponies: The Agent (“Eddy”) and Castlehill Ka La La (“Baloo”) and her 148cm pony Woodfield Five Star (“Rory”).

In July Izzi competed both her 138cm ponies at the Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead in the “Winter 138 Final” class. This is a national final for which Izzi had previously qualified her two 138cm ponies. Izzi and Baloo took 5th place in the competition out of the 25 rider / pony combinations that had qualified for the final.

Izzi was also selected to ride for Team England in the Welsh Home Pony International in early August, riding Eddy. Teams of four riders from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales compete in this competition. Izzi rode two clear rounds helping Team England win the gold medal for the 138 class.

Next for Izzi’s 138cm ponies will be the finals of the Horse of the Year Show to be held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham in early October. Again, she qualified both Eddy and Baloo for this class in tough national qualifying classes.
