Challenge & Extension

St Gabriel's pupils benefit from many opportunities to nurture their talents through the school's Challenge & Extension Programme. These include a personal mentor to discuss their academic and extra-curricular progress, personal interests and ambitions. Pupils enjoy informally exchanging their opinions on current affairs, or simply challenging their mentor to a game of chess!

Senior scholars are invited to meet termly for breakfast, where they are often joined by the Principal, to catch up on what each other have been up to and discuss topical issues that have caught their attention.

A central part of the Challenge & Extension Programme is to facilitate a greater understanding of the wider world. Guest speakers provide fascinating insights and are a huge success with pupils, parents and teachers alike. Presentations have included a debate on the current conflict in the Middle East, 'Ethics and Morality' by A. C. Grayling and 'Facial Composites in Eye Witness Memory' by Dr Charlie Frowd.

Visitors to St Gabriel's quickly recognise that this is no ordinary school. Parents are always impressed by the sense of purpose and enthusiasm of the talented, committed staff and the confidence of the extremely happy pupils. We offer girls the opportunity for a seamless journey from Nursery through to Sixth Form, with our boys leaving us at the age of 11 for their senior schools.
