A typical day would include a variety of activities which focus on one or more of the areas of learning. A multi-sensory approach is used to fully involve each child and ensure that the learning is meaningful and fun.
Children love playing outside and outdoor learning is an integral part of the educational experience for all children in Sandleford. Beyond the huge purpose-built canopies adjacent to each room, St Gabriel's has 56 acres of grounds, which the children have access to all year round, allowing them to follow a varied programme of activites in OWL Time (Outdoor & Wildlife Learning). This could include making obstacle courses in the woods, outdoor cooking, den-building and making bird cakes in winter. These activities help to develop an awareness of team spirit and early leadership skills as well as being lots of fun.
