Selina D, Y7, and Poppy A, Y10, competed in the Newbury Rotary Young Chef competition this weekend. The girls cooked their hearts out to produce a two course meal for two people, for under £12 in one and a half hours. After weeks of preparation, planning and practice, Selina and Poppy confidently dealt with the pressures of cooking in a professional kitchen, whilst under the watchful eye of the two, professional chef, judges. It was a close call when it came to judging, with only a few points between first and third place, which went to Selina for her Asian inspired salmon and lemon tart.
A huge well done to Selina and Poppy!
