Sports Scholarships

Sport at St Gabriel's offers a balanced curriculum for physical education. The sports department enjoys excellent facilities and a strong year-round fixture list.  All pupils are encouraged to enjoy major activities and to participate in individual and team sports. More able pupils are challenged and encouraged by our expert staff to achieve their sporting potential.

Requirements for entry

Candidates must produce evidence of their sporting achievements e.g. national awards, team membership, individual success.

A written report from the candidate's present Head of PE or teacher responsible for their PE lessons.

The Award

The Sports Scholarship is honorary and may be awarded to an outstanding candidate. The scholarship is based on the sports levels and awards obtained by the candidate and a practical assessment.

Scholarship Day

Candidates skills in hockey, netball, dance/gymnastics are tested during the practical assessment with approximately one hour per discipline.
