It is vital that students make informed choices about A level subjects which is why we offer a full week of Sixth Form induction. In addition to subject specific and study skills sessions, social and team building activities allow all entrants to the Sixth Form to meet their fellow students, subject and pastoral staff in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
Each student’s talents and abilities are recognised and nurtured and small tutor groups, regular one to one meetings with the form tutor and teaching staff mean that any difficulties are recognised and dealt with promptly. Young Enterprise, World Challenge, debating, peer mentoring and fundraising for the school's chosen charity are just some of the many co-curricular activities available to students.
Students are well prepared for life at university and beyond. Regular events are held on gaining places on highly competitive courses, including Law and Medicine, and on applying to Oxbridge. Specialist, tailored guidance from staff, careers professionals and alumnae help to inform students and enable them to make considered decisions about their choice of university and course. Our close link with IBM allows each student the opportunity to have a female senior executive mentor as well as providing regular talks on CVs, interview and presentation skills.
Each student enjoys a post of responsibility, playing an important role in many aspects of school life such as chairing the School Council, running clubs and social activities for younger pupils and organising whole school House events.
Students feel cared for and respected during this crucial time and consequently achieve excellent results.
