Senior School

The Senior School offers your daughter an education firmly focussed in the real world but with idealism at its heart. Our formal curriculum is broad and balanced with an extensive range of subjects on offer at GCSE and A levels.

Teacher-pupil ratios are small; academic results are excellent.

We believe that a girl can develop her gifts to the full when she feels happy and trusted in a secure, supportive and caring environment. At the heart of this philosophy is our commitment to an outstanding system of pastoral care which helps to maintain the strong bonds which exist between pupils, parents, administrative staff and teachers.

Girls are actively encouraged to take responsibility for others as well as for themselves. Senior girls help the juniors in an assortment of activities and give great partisan support to their Houses during the many and varied competitions. In the wider community the girls share their music-making, participate in community-link projects and raise significant funds for charity.

Our girls come to school each day with growing confidence in their ability to be successful both in the classroom and within the exciting range of co-curricular activities. We cultivate each girl's special skills and aptitudes as she moves through each stage of her education so that she can face the world with assurance, grit, poise and a love of learning which will stay with her for life.

Visitors to St Gabriel's quickly recognise that this is no ordinary school. Parents are always impressed by the sense of purpose and enthusiasm of the talented, committed staff and the confidence of the extremely happy pupils. We offer girls the opportunity for a seamless journey from Nursery through to Sixth Form, with our boys leaving us at the age of 11 for their senior schools.
