Junior School Blogging
Girls in the Junior Department have started blogging. A blog is like an online newspaper that the girls can post articles on including images, audio and video. The aim of the blog is to allow the girls to write about something they have learnt in school. This gives them the opportunity to reflect on their learning and write for a worldwide audience. The girls are responsible for writing their own posts so they can put all of the internet safety issues they have been learning about into practice.
We have joined up with three other schools from around the world in an activity called Quad Blogging. In our group we have schools from Canada, Australia, and the UK. Each week one of the four schools blogs is the focus and the other three schools must visit that blog and leave comments on their posts. This ensures that girls get comments and feedback on their writing. Parents and friends can also join in by leaving comments on our school blog or one of our partner schools blogs.
Our junior school blog can be found at: http://stgabrielsjunior.posterous.com/. The links to our partner schools can be found on our blog along with other links that may be of interest.
