What qualifications do I need?
For entry to the Sixth Form, students are required to achieve:
a minimum of 5 B Grades at GCSE
English Language and Mathematics GCSE at Grace C or above
Grade B or higher in the subjects you wish to study at A level
How many subjects can I study?
Students can study up to four subjects at AS level
Students can continue with two or three subjects to A2 level
What makes up an A level?
AS: an Advanced Subsidiary qualification represents the first half of a full A level and the level of demand is that expected of candidates at the end of Year 12.
A2: the second and final part of the A level
How many assessment units are there?
A levels normally comprise of four assessment units; two for AS and two for A2. Each unit has separate certification
The units can be taken at the end of Year 12 (AS) or at the end of Year 13 (AS + A2)
The normal pattern will be for candidates to complete AS at the end of Year 12 and A2 at the end of Year 13.
