Primary Mathematics Challenge 2009

This year more than 100,000 pupils took part in the UK's Primary Mathematics Challenge.

Mathematicians in Year 6 have been celebrating as 13 students achieved certificates with 3 gold, 8 silver and 2 bronze awards.

The challenge is an annual competition which provides students with intriguing papers designed to stimulate an interest in Maths.  It is a tough competition which stretches our most able maths students and it is a great achievement to gain bronze, silver or gold certificates.  Those taking part face a series of very challenging questions which cover a wide range of mathematical problems.

All those who entered should be congratulated on their achievements and a special mention given for Eloise Weeks, Louisa Grove-White and Isabel Vile who were each awarded gold certificates.
