Animal Antics in the Pre-Prep
In the Pre-Prep this week, there has been a lot of excitement about a variety of different animals. As part of our Science work all the Pre-Prep classes have been learning about different animals, from worms and ants in Year 2 to eggs and chicks in Nursery, Reception and Year 1. All the girls have been looking after animals and witnessing how they live and grow.
Nursery and Reception have been using an infra red lamp to watch how a chick begins to develop in the egg. They are looking forward to seeing them hatch over the coming weeks.
In Year 1 the girls have witnessed first hand eight chicks hatching from their shells and beginning to grow.
The girls have been watching and learning how quickly a young chick grows. This exciting event has been shared by the many visitors from the Junior and Senior girls who have been visiting the classroom during break and lunchtimes!
Year 2 have made their own antery and wormery, using worms that the girls found in the grounds of the school! The girls are now observing how these fascinating creatures live underground.
