Junior Football Tournament

In May, Mr Dove & Mrs Harding took two teams to take part in a football tournament for local Primary schools.  Many of the girls selected had been members of the football GAP sessions led by Louise Dodd from our Sixth Form, whilst others play regularly for club sides at the weekends.

Our Year 3&4 team showed huge determination and considerable skill in their competition which included some teams with boys.  They were proud semi-finalists and showed plenty of promise for the future.

The Year 5&6 team also played brilliantly and sailed through the group stage unbeaten.  In a thrilling semi-final, they pinched a winning goal direct from a corner in the last seconds and this set up a final with John Rankin School.  Unfortunately they proved just too strong for us, but we never gave up and only lost by one goal.
