Year 9 Visit Bath

Year 9 recently visited the Roman Baths in Bath to complement their Stage 3 work of the Cambridge Latin Course, which is set in Aquae Sulis - literally, the Waters of the Goddess Sul, a divinity related to the earth and also - bizarrely - to curses.

The girls received a teaching session on ancient artefacts before exploring the Baths with an audio guide.  Traditionally the girls throw a coin into the cold plunge and make a wish.  Lunch was spent exploring Bath.  Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day, with the only criticism being that it was not long enough!
