World Book Day 2010
The week beginning 1 March marked the run up to World Book Day and it was a busy time across the school. On Monday 1 March, a group of Senior School girls attended a fascinating talk by author Marcus Sedgwick, who gave an insight into research on vampire mythology for his books 'My Swordhand is Singing' and 'Kiss of Death'.
On World Book Day itself, the Junior and Pre-Prep pupils all dressed up as well-known book characters and there was a special assembly so that the children could show off their costumes. As part of the assembly, the Senior School Library Assistants helped to present a puppet show entitled 'A World Book Day "Carol"', in which various characters from books and fairy tales helped to convince a grumpy librarian to cheer up and celebrate the day.
The audience and performers had a great time!
