Year 9 Community Link Project

On the 27 of June, year 9 took part in a community link project, in which all three forms either visited a school, or had a school visit them. 9S decided to work with The Willows School in Newbury.  Firstly we visited their school and learnt a bit about the history of it, the Year 5 & 6 classes gave us a guided tour and proudly shared their thoughts and feelings about the school.

After that we went back to St Gabriel's, with the Year 3 & 4 pupils following behind us. We divided them into four groups to do different activities with our form. These activities were Arts and Crafts, Dance, Theatre, and PE. We also provided them with a picnic lunch, which we all enjoyed. The day finished with a tense football match; St Gab’s vs The Willows, unfortunately we lost…

The day was a complete success, with all the students fully involved, and they thoroughly enjoyed the day. We as a form hope to continue to work with The Willows and their students in the future, possibly for our D of E awards. We’d like to thank Mr Lewis, our form tutor, for making this great day possible, and the Willows, for coming along and taking part!

 9S with The Willows School

Visitors to St Gabriel's quickly recognise that this is no ordinary school. Parents are always impressed by the sense of purpose and enthusiasm of the talented, committed staff and the confidence of the extremely happy pupils. We offer girls the opportunity for a seamless journey from Nursery through to Sixth Form, with our boys leaving us at the age of 11 for their senior schools.
