Duke of Edinburgh Award

The Duke of Edinburgh Award is the world's leading youth achievement award.  It is an immensely worthwhile programme, which encourages children to take on new challenges, learn new skills and develop strength of character.  We offer all girls in Year 10 the opportunity to achieve their bronze award.

Through participation girls will make new friends, develop social and inter-personal skills, use their initiative, hone their organisational skills, become more independent and gain self-confidence as they undertake the service, physical and skill sections. Completion of the assessed expedition and of the final award gives a great sense of achievement. What is more, the award is highly prestigious and valued by colleges, universities and employers.

Visitors to St Gabriel's quickly recognise that this is no ordinary school. Parents are always impressed by the sense of purpose and enthusiasm of the talented, committed staff and the confidence of the extremely happy pupils. We offer girls the opportunity for a seamless journey from Nursery through to Sixth Form, with our boys leaving us at the age of 11 for their senior schools.
